Wingrave School Council
Each year two or three children from each class are elected by their classmates to be a member of our School Council. We hold elections and candidates have to make a speech to their class. Everyone then votes in a secret ballot. We have our own noticeboard in to the hall.

Red Nose Day: 15th March
On Friday the 15th March we will be organising a number of events to help raise funds to support Red Nose Day. We decided to support this charity as it holds a biannual event which helps many across the World. During the week of the 11th March we will be selling red noses for a donation of £1, so please save your purchase for school. The dress code for this day will be to come as somebody famous for a £1 donation. (Staff will be supporting the charity by wearing red). We have also decided to hold a cake sale after school and kindly ask for donations of cakes. There will also be two other events; fill a large nose on the hall floor with your loose change and design your own nose for 50p an entry. Click here for an entry form
Red Nose day was a great success. Thank you to everybody for dressing up. It looks like we have raised almost £500!!

The school council was started in January 2004. We meet regularly and put forward ideas from pupils about how we can improve our school. Last year we designed posters to encourage positive behaviour in the school; the Governors have consulted us on changes to the school uniform; and we interviewed candidates for the post of Headteacher. Our plans for this year include fund raising for Children in Need and selecting an overseas charity to support.
We worked very hard to raise money for Children in Need and this year we raised £434.28 - FANTASTIC!
We recently meet with the Governors to share our views about the school now and in the future. To read the minutes of this meeting click here.
